Info about Light Bulbs
Lighting bulb: general information
The amount of light given by a lamp is strictly connected to the light bulb that this has, but also with the design. If it has strong colors or materials the dispersed light that goes through this will be smaller. There are several types of light bulbs. The most common one is incandescent. Even if it comes in many colors, these types of bulbs consume a lot of electrical power and have a relatively short period of life. The light is produced by a tungsten thread that slowly burns inside the coverage of glass. These light bulbs are also called a-bulbs and are used at any light that you need indoors or outdoors. These are really cheap and last for 750 hours. However some countries forbid the usage of such balls due to the great amount of energy that they consume.
Other incandescent light bulbs include R-lamps, PAR lamps and BR lamps. R-lamps are short for reflector and it has a design that provides with a fixture place illumination. These are used in concerts, tracking and other things that require them. The only condition for these to properly work is to be kept out of humidity zones. Bulging lamps are the same with R-lamps and are great substitutes for these, but the electrical power they consume is almost the same as an R-lamp. The Parabolic Aluminize Reflector has a great use in house but also outdoor. It’s practical because its light doesn’t change colors and it has a stronger light. It has a much smaller requirement for electrical power and a longer life time.
Halogen bulbs give a strong white light. Xenon light balls give a strong light and have no UV in it. This deteriorates in time pictures, paintings and other such materials, but it lasts much longer than other light balls and it has a lower rate of charge in electrical power than regular bulbs. All of these lighting bulbs come in different shapes and sizes to adapt them to any use.
Most of the electrical generated light it’s consumed indoor and by using incandescent light bulbs. These are cheap but last a very short period of time. The fluorescent light bulbs are much better. They consume just 15 to 20% of the energy that an incandescent light burn and thus saving you a lot of money. The bad thing with these bulbs is that they cost a lot more than a regular bulb. But if you do a simple math, they are lasting longer, consume less plus the light it’s the same.
Also by using these lights you contribute to the safety of the planet by consuming less electrical power which means less pollution. These light balls only pollute if broken, but if you give them to a special recycling center than the pollution will be zero and you will tow times contribute to the health of your planet. By breaking these bulbs in an uncontrollable space the mercury quantity released by them is very small comparing to the pollution that an incandescent bulb gives.
